About Project Peel
Project Peel is made up of a group of local volunteers that are committed to the future of Peel Forest and surrounding areas. To do this we are developing an ongoing programme of work that will protect and enhance the biodiversity of the area.
Our Vision
“To reverse the ecological decline of the Peel Forest Scenic Reserve and surrounding natural areas”
We will achieve this vision through:
-
Controlling plant and animal pest species.
-
Raising awareness of the national importance of this forest.
-
Promoting the understanding and enjoyment of its ecosystems.
-
Advocating and making submissions on matters relevant to the ecological integrity of the reserve and surrounding area.
-
Sourcing local and national funding to employ professional pest contractors to support the work of volunteers.
